MTRVR Camping Light

The light is really bright. See the photo that has the light on at its highest setting with a full charge. The light can also be compressed down to about 18" tall which would make a great table lamp at the camp site.
The legs are heavy duty and snap together firmly so you do not have to worry about the unit tipping over. I was a bit disappointed that a charger was not included, however, the listing did not state one was included so that's my bad. Just know that if you order this you will need to buy a charger if you do not already have one.

This light is amazing! I really like that it looks like something from a sci fi movie. It's like something you'd see at the base camp of a new planet that's being explored. It's got some heft to it. It's definitely a light for the campsite, not so much for backpacking. Even though it's heavy, it folds down into a small size and easily fits into the included carrying case. Really lights up a large area well on all 3 brightness settings. When it's extended, it's still shorter than your average adult human, so the light isn't in your eyes, since the top's not lit. I really look forward to standing this up by my grill for night grilling. I tend to not do that often, since we don't have lights on our back deck and it's a pain to hang some up. This lantern has a waterproof rating that should be good for moderate rain. The plug over the USB port is watertight, but I worry a little about the exposed power button which looks like it leaves room for water to seep in. If I use this in really bad weather, the flat top of the light would actually be good to balance some kind of cover. This also works as a power bank, but the one port is both input and output, so if I'm in the wild and don't have a good power source, and I want to charge with another power bank, my understanding is that it'll be random as far as which battery is pulling power from which (if I'm charging USB-C to USB-C).

My only real knock is that this didn't come with a charging cord. But it uses USB-C, and I have a million of those.

I also must mention that I had a problem with my first light. Since I received it as part of the Vine program, returning it to Amazon was not an option. But I reached out to MTRVR customer service and they hooked me up with a new lantern right away. They have a really good website and they were easy to contact.

I have a light that’s similar in style to this one, although it’s nowhere near as sturdy or as well built as this one and also has a smaller battery capacity. I have an MTRVR chair and portable table and they’ve both been great to use, so I figured I’d try their camping light. It actually uses the same base as their chair, which can support over 600lbs, so it’s very sturdy with a locking metal base. The telescoping mechanism is easy to use and seems to reach a bit higher than my old light - fully extended it makes for the perfect light to go with my chair and table. It’s also capable of getting quite bright, more than bright enough for outdoor or campsite use and the battery lasts quite awhile of continuous use. I think I’ve used it for over 3 hours and it still shows 75% battery remaining. It comes with a very nice zippered carrying case as well which I appreciate. So far it’s been a great light and will be a mainstay at my campsite over the summer.

This is quite a weighty yet sturdy light. We have so far used both for camping and in the garden, in an evening.
It’s extremely quick and easy to pop up and the weight of it means it won’t be blown or knocked over easily. I like the telescopic height adjustment - simply pull to the desired height.
Battery display is clear and there are three brightness settings which can be changed at the touch of a button.
Easily folds away and fits in to the neat bag for storage. This also makes it incredibly portable.

I have waited a while to review this and I can honestly say I have given it a run for it's money and this is a brilliant product. First up it comes in a reasonably small box and has a lovely carrying bag which is strong and sturdy and fits nicely in my boot. It is certainly small enough to carry that's for sure. In a nutshell yes this is just a light, but it seems to be the best possible version of this and then some! It is super sturdy and extends up to be a much taller light. It is rechargeable which is amazing, and so far I have only charged it once and had plenty of use out of it. On the plus side (again a brilliant feature) once charged the light can be on and you can use the same plug to charge your phone in. I live in a flat so storage is limited and this takes up no room at all. We can easily carry this down to our garage (which we have done twice now) for decent light. The light throw illuminates the whole garage no problem. I also attended a barbecue where the light was fading fast and some of the exterior lights weren't quite cutting it. Luckily the light was in the boot of my car and voila! The only downside if you are really looking for one is that it may be a little on the heavy side for some people where weight is an issue. For me this is a very well made product that really performs and I think is worth every single penny. The charge took me around 6 hours but I still have a small amount left after the BBQ evening for around and hour and two trips to the garage. A very decent bit of kit
