Great big boy/girl chair

This is a great chair for big people. The frame of the chair is pretty solid. It pretty easy to set up and fold up pretty easy as well. What amazes me is that it is about 2 feet when folded down making it real easy to lug around. The back is made of mesh to make it cooler during hot days. The only issue I found was that the base is a bit narrow which makes it a bit unstable if you have the chair on a slop. If you stick to flat ground this is the chair for you.

If Dr. Evil went camping... complete with henchmen eject feature.

First off, this thing is large. In the picture above I've placed a 3x5 index card in frame for scale. It does not come with a carry strap or bag. It is _NOT_ manpack camping friendly, even if the chair design looks similar to chairs that are made for manpack camping.

Once you get it open, the lash unfastened, you are presented with the next issue, assembly. I found that I needed to extend and lock both of the 'forward' legs before locking the four legs into place in the hub. This gave me leverage to lock the legs in place, but if I locked the legs in place first I had difficulty locking one of the two forward legs to the locking peg. With the two forward legs locked, and the feet locked in the hub, the back poles can be extended without as much difficulty.

I found the chair itself to be comfortable. But once in the chair, I found it a little daunting to get up. The chair repeatedly tried to slip out from under me as I leaned forward to rise from the chair, nearly causing me to fall.

All of my whinging aside, the seams look solid and well done. The material looks like it will hold up for years, and does not have the usual weak points typical of collapsing camping chairs.

Better Instructions Required

This chair, when set up seems fairly sturdy and is capable of supporting larger individuals. The problem that I have with the chair is that it seems as though it should be easily set in perhaps a couple of minutes; however, poorly written directions and diagrams had me somewhat confused about set up. Once I was able to extend and lock the leg stand and arms, it is a nice chair that I can easily see myself bringing along to a picnic, summer concert, or camping trip. Just don’t expect to allow someone to use the chair without some additional assistance.

6 stars!

What a great camping chair!
I recently lost my favorite lightweight camping chair to an unfortunate fire/wind incident.
Needless to say, that was quite a bummer.
Well, I guess there's a reason for everything because this chair is way more comfortable than my old chair.
I will say, this chair deploys differently than any other chair I've used.
You have to pull a pin on the bottom, then extend the detent-secured arms...it's all very complicated but once you've done it once or twice it's rather intuitive.
I do wish this chair had dedicated arm rests.
The sides of the chair do come up enough for you to rest your arms on, but it's not the same.

Haven't tested this out on mushy ground yet but it seems like it would do well on uneven ground.
Very sturdy and adjustable.

It supports my 280lb body with zero issues.

Very highly recommended.

Mostly not a bad chair

I'll start with the good, this chair is built fairly well and I'd say it should hold up through several years of regular use. The main components are rugged and designed to take some abuse in the outdoors.

The chair is fairly easy to set up, it might take a minute the first time or two since there are multiple flailing parts that flop around when you first pull it apart. Once you get everything pulled out and locked in it becomes a decently sturdy chair that's plenty large.

The aesthetics of the chair look good and when folded doesn't take a lot of room to pack. The head cushion is well placed and three high back is comfortable to lean into.

The down sides of this chair are that the sides are quite steep and tall which impedes free arm movements but it also makes it a bit of a pain to use the beverage and devices pockets on the side of the chair. As the seat curves up at the legs, stretching your legs you straight the edge of the chair will also dig into the back of your legs because your sitting "down into" the chair.

The the base of the chair is plenty solid enough when you're sitting in it but I would definitely not recommend this to anyone that has knee or hip issues as getting out of the chair the somewhat narrow base is not as stable as when you're just sitting in it. If you need to use the chair to push yourself out it can become less stable.

Putting the chair back into it's folded size takes a little practice as all the arms are flailing about while your trying to stuff the "chair" portion to the center of all the legs so that it maintains I tidy package for storage. It doesn't come with a bag to place it in so making sure that it's wrapped up properly becomes more important.

In conclusion I think it's a very well made chair and the materials are certainly worth the cost. However be mindful of it's potential tipping capacity if you require your arms in helping you get out from a lower position. Definitely great for keeping in a vehicle to use as needed as it takes up a relatively small area to store. It's comfortable to sit on but the sides are a bit on the obnoxious side of tall, almost hugging your body while you sit in it and limiting your free range of movement of your upper extremities.

Surprisingly Large

For such a small storage footprint, the chair itself is huge. Super easy to setup, it's not one of those chairs that you have to put together a frame, just pull it apart and lock it in.

For the most part, it's quite comfortable, except where my legs cross over the bottom as that part of the fabric becomes very taught and causes discomfort and numbing after sitting too long. This isn't exactly an uncommon problem with folder chairs the.

The biggest flaw with this chair are the support legs, the are much too small and narrow for the size of the chair. This causes it to be unusually unstable and tips over pretty easy.

Only tricky the first time

I'm grateful for another reviewer that helped me figure out how this chair sets up. But once you figure it out the first time, it is very easy.

The chair is very large and pretty comfortable, but it does restrict your arms a little. If you are just sitting and reading a book, it's great. But if you need to use your hands, like eating or drinking your favorite beverage, it can be a little awkward.

The downside for me was that this chair is not any lighter or more compact than other camp chairs (although it is larger). Given that, I'm not sure this is worth the premium price. I will say that both of my cats love it and fought over the sitting rights.

Super heavy duty

Folds quickly, extremely easy to setup, love the airflow in the back. Holds drinks great. Leans back too!

Was Hoping it Would Be a Little More Comfortable

I am a fuller figure female that is only 5’4” tall. I was hoping that this - Oversized Tall Portable Camping Chair for Adults, Heavy Duty Support up to 600 lbs, Easy Setup – would be a little more comfortable than it is. It does fit fine around the body but it is sort of bothersome under my thighs as if my legs are too short. I think if I had an ottoman or foot stool to prop up my feet it would be more comfy. My 5’11” son gave it a try. He didn’t find it to be all that comfortable either.

At first, I did find the set up and break down of this chair to be a little tricky. After a few times, it became easier to do (see attached video) but it’s not as easy as I would want it to be if I were going to use this at the beach. Plus I’d be concerned about the sand and salt ruining it. I would probably consider using this chair at a ballgame or an outdoor concert though, or camping.

This chair does not have armrests and I did find myself wanting them. I do like that it has a couple of pockets that are on the left side. One is large enough to hold a water bottle. The chair and parts seem to be of good quality and are well constructed. For its price tag ($189.99 at the time of this review), I hope it will last a while.

Campingstuhl

Comfortable and stable

This chair is super comfortable, solid and very stable, making it easy to get out of. It took less than a minute to set up, takedown was a bit longer, but still easy. My 6'5 nephew 280lbs sat in it no problem. I do wish they included a bag for storage so the metal wouldn't get scratched when packed with other things.

Great, portable chair and extremely light!

I’ll be honest I wasn’t sure what to expect when I placed this order and it surpassed my expectations in terms of weight and material. Once you understand how it goes together, it’s pretty easy, but I found the directions to be slightly confusing.

If you get a chance to watch my video, you’ll see that it was quite simple to extend the two poles on the back and get them to lock, but there’s yet another extender pole that is on both of those polls and it wasn’t clear that I needed to pull those out. Once I figured it out it all came together pretty easily.

We like to go paddle boarding down in Dana point and we’ll make a day of it. We only have three paddle boards and if you get a good group of people, you wanna have some comfortable chairs to sit in while everyone’s out having fun. There is some extra storage on the side for drinks and snacks, etc.

A good folding chair, very well made, robust and durable camping chair

This is a really robust and durable folding camping chair with high back support, it's nice and wife too with room to shift around and get comfortable.

It's got a clever design with extending poles with metal poppers that click into place as you open out the telescopic poles that form the back of the chair.

The four thick and robust legs just fold out and form a really supportive structure.

It's not the lightest chair but not overly heavy to carry short distances, it would have been better if it came with a carry bag to make it more portable and easy to carry.

The chair is comfortable to sit on , it offers back support, it's breathable, durable and quite easy to assemble in a few minutes.

There is a knack to fold it down again buy it comes with instructions to guide you through these steps , and to assemble.

Overall it's a comfortable folding chair that will save space, a tad expensive I'm my opinion but it's also really well made.

It would have been much better if it came with a carry bag like other chairs of this type.

It's an ideal option for camping and fishing.

Ordentliches Teil. 4 von 5 Sterne.

Comfortable, compact and robust but expensive

I was happy to have a chance to try out this folding chair, and to share my thoughts.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS AFTER UNPACKING
The material is really sturdy and the legs are quite chunky which gives a reassuring impression of quality. Which is just as well as the price tag is rather impressive as well!

It is more compact when folded than our other chairs, compared to others. However the downside to the more robust build does mean that it is heavier than our other chairs. Don't get me wrong, I can easily carry it in one hand - but personally I think it's not for longer distances. Also I didn't get a carry bag with mine, so I'd either have to hold it near the velcro strap or find a suitable bag so I could carry it over my shoulder.

SETTING UP
I did have to read the instructions on how to set up, although once you get the knack it's actually fairly simple and quick to do.

My problem initially was when I turned it upside down and opened the legs, they didn't click into place. I almost have to give it a little shake. Once you hear the click (it's quite distinctive, you won't miss it) then you're good to go. Simply turn it the right way up, pull out the bottom part of both back rest poles until the buttons pop into place, then repeat with the top part of both back rest poles. Note the chair will feel rather wobbly until both back rest poles are fully extended.

PUTTING AWAY
To put it away, reverse the process - press the buttons in the backrest poles to allow them to concertina back (as soon as you've done the first one, the chair back will feel wobbly again). Then turn it upside down, and pull the little ring in the centre of the legs so you can bend the legs down. Keeping the legs held together - as they will try to open out again if you let go - start tucking the fabric inside a bit to make it a neater package. Finally do not forget to wrap the velcro round to keep it closed (as I did the first time, and found it sprang open so I had to start tucking everything back in again!)

IN USE
Firstly I'd advise sitting so your bottom is directly over the chair legs so your centre of gravity is stable. Then you can lean back slightly and rest your head comfortably against the head rest in a fairly vertical position. This does give good support compared to our other chairs where the back stops below your shoulder blades. It's surprising how much more relaxing it is with the head support.

If you try to sit too far back in the seat to start with then the chair feels like it's about to tip backwards. This is because the footprint of the feet is quite small in comparison to the size of the seat. (In contrast, our other folding chairs have the legs spread out quite far). Once you're in place properly in this chair though it feels comfortable and stable enough.

You do sit rather deeply in the chair - see my model demonstrating this - which means you may find your knees are higher than you'd usually expect. It's fine for us, but do bear this in mind if you struggle to get out of low chairs.

I'm about 5'4" and the low seating position means that the top of my head is nearly level with the top of the headrest. My model is about 5'10" and the top of his head is about 5" above the top of the chair, if that gives you an idea. We both find it quite comfortable to sit in and the size of the headrest works for both of us.

There aren't any arm rests, although the fabric at the side does come out, a little bit like an enclosed egg chair which gives a tiny windbreak on each side. This is somewhere to tuck your elbows into with an almost cosy feeling. This would be good if you sit wrapped up in a blanket in cooler camping evenings, as there's less ways for the breeze to get in. (In contrast, our other folding chairs have a massive gap between the arm rests, the chair seat and the chair back).

OTHER FEATURES
There are two pockets sewn onto the left hand side, a smaller one which is useful for a mobile phone and a larger one which can fit a small water bottle / travel cup. This is fine for me as a left hander (and it's nice to find equipment in our favour for once!) but some right handers may not like this positioning.

The mesh back is great for using in the hotter weather, as it will let any breeze flow through and avoids that uncomfortable sweaty back feeling.

OVERALL OPINION
Now I've got used to this chair, I actually really like it. It is a comfortable and sturdy chair which is quick to put up/down and is more compact for putting in the car boot. It also has another use as an emergency chair when we have extra family round and we can't all fit on the sofa/chairs - it's easy to pop this up for extra seating.

My main problem though (which is the reason for deducting the 5th star) is the price tag. At nearly £190 at the time of ordering, I won't be able to get matching ones for the family. We may be fighting over this one on our next camping holiday!

AUA!
