This is a great chair for big people. The frame of the chair is pretty solid. It pretty easy to set up and fold up pretty easy as well. What amazes me is that it is about 2 feet when folded down making it real easy to lug around. The back is made of mesh to make it cooler during hot days. The only issue I found was that the base is a bit narrow which makes it a bit unstable if you have the chair on a slop. If you stick to flat ground this is the chair for you.
Not that comfortable
First off, this thing is large. In the picture above I've placed a 3x5 index card in frame for scale. It does not come with a carry strap or bag. It is _NOT_ manpack camping friendly, even if the chair design looks similar to chairs that are made for manpack camping.
Once you get it open, the lash unfastened, you are presented with the next issue, assembly. I found that I needed to extend and lock both of the 'forward' legs before locking the four legs into place in the hub. This gave me leverage to lock the legs in place, but if I locked the legs in place first I had difficulty locking one of the two forward legs to the locking peg. With the two forward legs locked, and the feet locked in the hub, the back poles can be extended without as much difficulty.
I found the chair itself to be comfortable. But once in the chair, I found it a little daunting to get up. The chair repeatedly tried to slip out from under me as I leaned forward to rise from the chair, nearly causing me to fall.
All of my whinging aside, the seams look solid and well done. The material looks like it will hold up for years, and does not have the usual weak points typical of collapsing camping chairs.
I’m really happy with this camping chair. As a heavy person, I appreciate the sturdy design that supports up to 600 lbs. It’s comfortable, easy to set up, and the high back provides excellent support for long periods.
This chair, when set up seems fairly sturdy and is capable of supporting larger individuals. The problem that I have with the chair is that it seems as though it should be easily set in perhaps a couple of minutes; however, poorly written directions and diagrams had me somewhat confused about set up. Once I was able to extend and lock the leg stand and arms, it is a nice chair that I can easily see myself bringing along to a picnic, summer concert, or camping trip. Just don’t expect to allow someone to use the chair without some additional assistance.
